Harbaugh and Herrmann were teammates on the 1982 squad. Harbaugh was in his redshirt year, and Herrmann was a senior linebacker. That team won the Big Ten but lost in the Rose Bowl to UCLA, 24-14, ending the season 8-4 and ranked 15th by UPI.

The Cardinals are 3-1. Goodwin’s offense is averaging 22 points per game, 21st in the league.
